Transcript Legalisation in Singapore

Every page certified, one bound set

A university or licensing body abroad has asked for your full marks, not just your degree. Our transcript legalisation in Singapore covers the whole record, page by page, so the office can read every module and grade.

Paper transcripts, OpenCerts files, polytechnic and ITE records, and O-Level or A-Level certificates each start a little differently. We check the format first, then match it with your degree so both arrive as one set.

Can a Singapore transcript be legalised for use abroad?

Yes, after our partner Notary Public certifies it first.

A transcript is issued by a school, not a government office, so SAL will not stamp it directly. Our partner Notary Public certifies the full record, SAL authenticates or apostilles it, and an embassy adds its stamp where the country needs one.

Why it is asked for

Where A Legalised Singapore Transcript Gets Used Abroad

Academic transcript attestation is usually asked for when someone abroad must judge your grades, not just confirm you graduated. Offices that check equivalency often want the transcript and the degree certificate legalisation done together.

01

Master's or PhD admission

Overseas universities compare your modules and grades against their entry rules.

02

Degree equivalency with a transcript

Gulf education ministries often review the transcript next to the degree before issuing equivalency.

03

Professional licensing

Health, engineering and teaching regulators check study hours and subjects for registration.

04

Work permits

Some work permit files, for example in China or Vietnam, ask for the full academic record.

05

Credit transfer

A university abroad may grant credits only after it sees legalised module results.

06

Scholarship applications

Funding bodies often want proof of grades that cannot be edited after printing.

07

School transfers

Children moving schools abroad may need O-Level or A-Level results legalised.

08

Teaching jobs

Schools hiring foreign teachers sometimes need the transcript to show the subject studied.

Step by step

Transcript Legalisation From First Scan To Final Stamp

Transcript legalisation with us runs as one tracked file from start to finish. As a Singapore legalisation company working with a network of Singapore Notary Publics, we handle each stage ourselves up to SAL and the embassy.

  1. 1

    Scan and route check

We read every page and confirm the route for your country and purpose.

  2. 2

    Original verified

Our partner Notary Public checks the paper original or verifies the OpenCerts file online.

  3. 3

    Pages certified and bound

All pages, including the grading key on the back, are certified and bound as one set.

  4. 4

    SAL stamp

SAL authenticates our partner Notary Public's seal or adds an apostille for Hague countries.

  5. 5

Embassy and return for your transcript

Embassy countries get their consular stamp, then we courier or hand back the set.

Original or copy

Original Transcript Or Certified Copy: Choosing What Gets Legalised

Legalising a transcript copy is the usual choice, because the original stays clean for later use. Our partner Notary Public makes a certified true copy with a notarial seal, and the stamps go on that copy.

Legalising the original

  • Stamps and seals go on your only paper transcript
  • Suits offices that refuse copies of any kind
  • Hard to reuse if a second country asks later

Legalising a certified copy

  • Your original transcript is handed back unmarked
  • Several sets can be made for different countries
  • Accepted by most universities and regulators abroad
Matching degree

Equivalency offices usually want the transcript and degree to show the same name, programme and dates, so we legalise them side by side.

Translation

Some countries want the legalised transcript in their own language; our certified translation for legalisation is added at the step the receiving office expects.

Name changes

If your name has changed since you studied, send the marriage certificate or deed poll so the link between both names is clear.

Turnaround

Transcript Attestation Turnaround Around Intake And Licence Dates

What to send

Getting Your Transcript Ready For Legalisation

Preparing a transcript for legalisation mostly means sending the complete record and knowing who asked for it. Missing back pages or a half-downloaded file are the usual hold-ups.

  • A scan of every page, front and back, including the grading key
  • The OpenCerts file itself, if your transcript is digital
  • Your degree or diploma, if the office wants both
  • A passport scan to match names
  • The checklist or email from the university, employer or regulator
Lost or damaged transcript?

Most registrars can reissue an official transcript; SEAB results can be downloaded again through MySkillsFuture. We then legalise the fresh copy.

Living outside Singapore?

Send the OpenCerts file or courier the paper copy; our legalisation from overseas service returns the finished set to you.

Avoid a delay

Small Transcript Details That Cause Big Delays Abroad

Refusals of a mark sheet attestation usually come down to small details that are easy to fix in Singapore and hard to fix abroad.

Common slip
How we prevent it
✕ Back pages or grading key left out
✓ We certify every page and side so the office sees the full record and its grading scale.
✕ Opening the sealed envelope meant for the university
✓ We advise ordering one sealed copy to post and a separate copy to legalise.
✕ Transcript sent without the degree
✓ We check whether your office needs both and legalise them as a matching pair.
✕ Old name on the transcript, new name on the passport
✓ We add the marriage certificate or deed poll so the two names are clearly linked.

FAQ

Transcript Legalisation: Doubts From Graduates And Parents

Wondering about something before your transcript legalisation? These are questions graduates and parents ask us before they order.

Will you keep my original transcript, or is it returned straight away?

It comes back to you after our partner Notary Public has checked it, because the stamps normally go on a certified copy. If your receiving office insists on the original transcript itself, we tell you before anything is lodged.

Roughly how many working days should I allow for transcript legalisation?

Plan for 1–2 working days at our partner Notary Public and 1–2 at SAL, plus the embassy queue for embassy countries. If you first need a fresh transcript from the registrar, add about 3–4 working days.

I live overseas now, so can my transcript be legalised without me flying back?

Yes. Send the OpenCerts file or courier the paper transcript, and we post the finished set to you. A parent in Singapore can also hand it over with a short authorisation letter and your passport copy.

What is the full price to legalise a transcript for India?

S$330 in Singapore: S$130 for the certified copy with notarial seal and S$200 for the SAL apostille. Courier and any translation are extra.

Are all pages of a multi-page transcript charged separately?

No. A bound multi-page transcript is normally treated as one document, and very long or double-sided records are confirmed from your scan before you pay.

Can you legalise an interim transcript issued before my graduation?

Yes, as issued. Many universities and ministries abroad want the final transcript showing the conferred degree, so check with them first.

My transcript came in a sealed envelope for the university abroad, so should I open it?

No, keep the sealed transcript closed for the university. Order a separate copy from the registrar for us to legalise, as an opened envelope may be refused.

Do legalised transcripts expire if a university abroad asks for a recent one?

The stamps themselves do not expire. Some universities and employers only accept a transcript legalised within a recent period, so check their rules before reusing an old set.
